It’s the First Time I Can Be Proud to Be an American in 4 Years
In a time when national pride has often felt like a fleeting sentiment, there’s a certain weight that comes with declaring, “I’m proud to be an American.”
For the past four years, it has been difficult to feel that pride consistently, as the country has grappled with political divisiveness, social unrest, and a general sense of uncertainty.
But as recent events unfold, for the first time in four years, I can truly say I’m proud to be an American again.
The past few years have been a tumultuous period in American history. From contentious elections to the rise of deeply polarized politics, to the global pandemic that tested the resilience of the nation in every conceivable way, it seemed like the very fabric of the American spirit had been frayed.
