Mom of four has vanity plate for 15 years –

For 15 years, Wendy Auger, a mother of four from Rochester, New Hampshire, proudly displayed her vanity license plates reading “PB4WEGO.” The playful reminder for her children to “pee before we go” often drew laughs and compliments.

But in 2019, the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) ordered her to surrender the plates, citing a regulation against combinations referencing “sexual or excretory acts or functions.” The demand shocked Auger, who felt the decision clashed with the state’s “Live Free or Die” motto, saying, “If I have to take it off the plate, then I’m not going to be able to live free.”

Auger shared her frustration on Facebook, posting the DMV recall letter alongside photos of the plates. The post went viral, sparking support from netizens who found the situation absurd. Comments poured in, with many calling the plates harmless and humorous. Some encouraged her to fight back, while others joked about potential alternatives. The social media buzz reached New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who stepped in to overturn the DMV’s ruling. In a voicemail, Sununu assured Auger, “Common sense prevailed,” allowing her to keep the plates.

On August 28, 2019, Auger celebrated her victory online, proudly declaring, “This Sassy Momma Has Her Plates!!!” Her story highlights the power of public support and humor in challenging bureaucratic decisions.
