In a deeply emotional moment, surrounded by the serenity of the mountains, Jeff Cook — co-founder of the legendary band Alabama — took his final breath while holding the hand of his beloved wife, Lisa. He passed away in their private mountain retreat, affectionately called their “castle,” a place filled with love, memories, and peace.

After a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, Jeff chose to step away from the spotlight and spend his final years wrapped in the comfort of nature and the arms of his family. Known not only as a gifted musician and guitar virtuoso, Jeff was admired for his humility, passion for music, and zest for life.

Lisa Cook, his wife of over 27 years, shared a tearful and touching statement after his passing. “He went so peacefully, just like the man he was. As he held my hand one last time, he whispered, ‘Thank you for loving me all the way to the end.’ I will carry those words with me forever.”
