It’s been almost one and a half years since Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, was diagnosed with cancer. Needless to say, her family has gone through a very challenging period, but to everyone’s joy, she’s now made a full recovery. Of course, that doesn’t mean that Kate is back full-time. A source has now revealed new details in her post-cancer remission – and it reportedly affects her daily life a lot.
Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis, which was disclosed in March last year, sent royal fans worldwide into shock. The Princess of Wales, who had undergone an abdominal surgery in January earlier the same year, left public life to focus on her cancer treatment. For a long time, people didn’t know how she was doing or even where she was. The infamous manipulated Mother’s Day picture, which Kate later apologized for, didn’t hardly suppressed the conspiracy theories about her not being well, or even alive. But in the end, she thankfully made it through. In September last year, the princess released an emotional video where she stated that she was cancer-free and had completed her chemotherapy.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate said in the video. She added that it had been an “incredibly tough” year and that “life as we know it can change in an instant.” Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales described the “stormy waters” of cancer as something “complex, scary, and unpredictable.” “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything,” Kate added.
Kate Middleton has ‘new perspective on life’ amid cancer
The princess has attended more events since then, and her daily royal duties have resumed. That said, Kate is taking things slowly to avoid rushing back into her old life, and some insiders have even suggested that she will approach life moving forward in a very different way. In a column for the Daily Mail, royal correspondent Rebbeca English cited sources that claimed William and Kate have gotten a whole new perspective on life, adding that the “trauma” has “changed” the Princess of Wales as a person. Moreover, one source made the bombshell claim that Kate won’t adopt the same schedule as she did before her diagnosis. “Cancer impacts on your perspective, and what you have seen in the decisions they have made over the last year is that family and their children continue to be at the center of their universe,” a source told English.
