Former NFL wide receiver Chandler Jones, a professional football coach, has sadly passed away.
Jones is reported to have died in a car accident a week ago after being struck by a driver in Los Angeles.
He was only 33.
The former WR was a standout at San Jose State, where he was known as “The Jet” for his blistering pace. He was a coach and player for the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL at the time of his death.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, per FOX Sports, Jones was struck by the driver of a Toyota RAV4 on the eastbound lanes of the 90 freeway around 2:00 a.m. last Sunday and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of former assistant defensive backs coach Chandler Jones. He was a passionate and dedicated coach whose professionalism and commitment left a lasting impression on the organization,” the Alouettes said in a statement.
