The disorder, often linked to smoking or vocal strain, gave her a distinctive tone but also left her with a large vocal cord polyp. Cyrus explained that despite its challenges, she sees the condition as a “blessing” and refuses surgery for fear of losing the voice that defines her. While touring crosses her mind, she prioritizes sustainability and authenticity, as she always performs live and avoids lip-syncing.
Cyrus also discussed her evolving relationship with fame and performing. Winning her first Grammy in 2024 for “Flowers” was a major milestone, yet she’s now more focused on creating in intimate settings rather than touring.
In a 2023 post titled “Sent From Heaven,” she told fans she values connection over constant visibility. Reflecting on her early years, she shared regret over the judgment she faced and how her need to separate from her Disney persona once drove her actions.
