In the latest round of what some are calling “leftist chaos,” actress Rosie O’Donnell — known for her outspoken criticism of former President Donald Trump and her past vow to move abroad after his election — took to Instagram with a striking new protest plan.
On Wednesday evening, October 22, O’Donnell posted a stark image rather than a caption, calling for a one-week “mass blackout” — a coordinated effort where Americans would skip work and halt spending in order to “shut down” the economy as an act of resistance against the Trump administration.
The post, which had nearly 50,000 likes and 4,000 comments at the time of reporting, read:
“WE’RE NOT ASKING. WE’RE SHUTTING IT DOWN.”
It went on to announce a nationwide “MASS BLACKOUT” from November 25th to December 2nd, urging supporters to join what she described as “the largest economic blackout protest in U.S. history.” The plan calls for “No Work – No Projects – No Spending – No Events – No Restaurants – NO BACKING OUT!!!”
