Elementary teacher Kaitlyn Biernacki shared that when asking a math question, students responded with “six” and then “6-7,” derailing the lesson entirely. Similarly, middle and high school teachers report classes chanting “6-7” during counting exercises, prompting some to ban the phrase in their classrooms.
