This is the second time in the last month that I’ve found this in my house, what should I do?

The first time I noticed it, I brushed it off. Life is busy, evenings are long, and sometimes you convince yourself that small signs don’t really mean anything. But when it happened again—less than a month later—I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

Our homes are supposed to feel safe, predictable, and comforting, especially in the quiet hours of the evening. That’s why finding something unfamiliar or unsettling in your own space can shake you more than you expect. It’s not just about what you found—it’s about the feeling that comes with it. That moment where your mind starts asking questions your heart isn’t ready to answer.

As women, we’re often taught to downplay our instincts. We tell ourselves we’re being dramatic, tired, or anxious. But intuition exists for a reason. When something feels off twice, it’s no longer just a random moment—it’s a pattern asking for attention.

The first step is to pause and assess calmly. Look at your surroundings. Think about who has access to your home, recent changes in routine, or anything new that might explain what you found. Sometimes the explanation is simple. Other times, it’s a sign that boundaries—physical or emotional—need to be strengthened.
