She got home from the hospital, and her whole life changed in seconds. The house itself was no longer hers either. Daniel admitted he had secretly stopped paying the mortgage months earlier, and foreclosure papers were already in process. He kissed her forehead before leaving each evening and told the nurses to call him if she needed anything at all. Even the neighbors later admitted they had seen him moving boxes out of the house while Amanda was still hospitalized.
