The internet is buzzing over a disturbing video showing a man lying on his side with his eyes closed as a large, hairy tarantula crawls toward his open mouth. At first glance, the scene looks almost too shocking to believe, with the spider positioned directly against his lips while he remains remarkably still. A red circle and arrow highlight the frightening moment, drawing attention to the spider and making the footage even more difficult to ignore. The unusual scene immediately raises questions about what the man is doing and whether the encounter is real or staged.
As the short clip continues, the tarantula appears to move around the man’s lips while he keeps his eyes closed and barely reacts. The camera stays tightly focused on his face, leaving viewers with little else to look at besides the spider’s movements. Large, colorful “SWIPE UP” text appears at the bottom of the video, suggesting that the footage was created to attract attention on social media and encourage viewers to continue watching. For people who are afraid of spiders, the close-up alone may be enough to make them look away, while others may find themselves watching until the very end.
Although the footage creates an intense moment of suspense, the video alone does not establish whether the encounter is genuine, carefully staged, or digitally altered. Tarantulas are generally not aggressive toward humans, but they can bite when threatened, and their defensive hairs can cause irritation. Anyone handling a large spider should understand the risks rather than attempting a stunt for online attention.
