President Donald Trump promised a transition to what he called the “golden age of America” in a number of statements made during his inauguration speech. One of his audacious declarations, in particular, sparked intense public interest and a noteworthy response from Hillary Clinton.
With declarations like “Our sovereignty will be reclaimed,” President Trump pledged to elevate America’s status. We’ll be safe again. We will rebalance the justice scales. “Building a proud, prosperous, and free nation will be our top priority,” he underlined.
Trump listed raising domestic oil production, enacting tariffs that benefit Americans, and sending troops to the U.S.-Mexico border as some of his plans. He then revealed a plan to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which was a startling turn of events.
Inspiring the wonder and admiration of the entire world, Trump said, “America will reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, and most respected nation on earth.” In the near future, he added, “we will be renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and renaming the great president William McKinley to Mount McKinley, where it belongs and where it should be.”
