Fox News host Kat Timpf has disclosed that she was diagnosed with cancer merely 15 hours prior to the birth of her son last week. Timpf, a prominent figure on Gutfeld! at Fox News, shared this deeply personal news, revealing that she received a breast cancer diagnosis shortly before welcoming her first child.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Timpf recounted the significant moment in her life, stating that she became a mother last week, but just fifteen hours before her labor began, she learned of her breast cancer diagnosis.
This announcement comes in the context of speculation regarding her recent absences from Gutfeld!, where her co-host Greg Gutfeld had also taken a break earlier this year, which was later attributed to the birth of his child.
In her message, Kat Timpf reassured her followers, highlighting that her doctor remains optimistic about her situation. She mentioned that the diagnosis was at stage 0, and medical professionals are confident that it has not progressed. Addressing any concerns, she humorously told her audience, “Now, before you worry, my doctor says it’s stage 0 and is confident that it almost certainly hasn’t spread. Or, as I’ve explained to the few people I’ve managed to tell about it so far: don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a little bit of cancer.”
“Still, it was not a chill day. I mean, to say the least! I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out. By the middle of the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out.”
Kat Timpf maintained her signature wit even in the face of such a challenging moment. She noted that hospital staff turned out to be the perfect audience for her dark humor,
“The good news? People who work at hospitals make excellent audiences for dark humor — and, as someone whose first book was about the power of jokes to get through traumatic situations, there was really no better place for me to be.”
Following the birth, she exhibited a remarkable ability to maintain a sense of humor, engaging in light-hearted banter with the nurses regarding the unconventional nature of her birth announcement under the circumstances. This capacity to find levity in challenging situations continues to characterize her, providing insight into her approach to this unforeseen phase of her life.
