Speaking candidly in a video message shared by Kensington Palace, Princess Kate disclosed that she is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy following the discovery of cancer.

The diagnosis came after she underwent abdominal surgery earlier in the year. At the time, palace officials stated it was a planned procedure, and details were limited. However, in her recent statement, the Princess explained that further testing following the operation revealed the presence of cancer. She described the news as a “huge shock” and acknowledged the emotional toll it has taken on her and her family.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she said. “As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay.”
