Karmelo Anthony, the 17-year-old charged with fatally stabbing athlete Austin Metcalf at a Frisco, Texas track meet on April 2, has changed legal representation ahead of his upcoming court appearance. The incident occurred when Metcalf reportedly asked Anthony to move from a tent reserved for Frisco Memorial students. Witnesses say the situation escalated quickly,
ending with Anthony allegedly stabbing Metcalf in the chest. Metcalf, a rising football star, died in his twin brother’s arms.Anthony was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
He remains, in Collin County Jail on a $1 million bond. His family recently retained Dallas attorney Mike Howard, replacing previous counsel Billy Clark and Kim T. Cole. Public reaction has been mixed—many mourn Metcalf’s tragic death,
